Music Room, Rm 156. We will learn more about the huge and amazing continent of
Africa, talk about the famine going on there right now, and find out what one person

Food Fines
Attention all Thomas students, if you currently have an outstanding fine balance in our
school library, here's some news you can use...Mr. Hillmer has announced a new "Food
for Fines" program that runs between now and the end of the school day on Friday,
December 16, 2011. Here's how it works: If you have an overdue book fine, you can
bring in a non-perishable food item to the LMC and your fine will be forgiven. Here's
a chance to start out the new year with a clean slate in the LMC and a chance to help
those in need. All food donations to the LMC will be given to a local food pantry. See
the library for more details. Bring some food in for a good cause, and get your fine
forgiven soon. Food for Fines only runs between today and December 16th.

animals escape
This past weekend 50 animals escaped from a wild animal reserve in Columbus Ohio. This was including 11 lions and 18 Bengal tigers, monkeys, giraffes, zebras, bears, and more. The man who owns the reserve let them out. Then he committed suicide. A few hours later the Columbus police got scads of 911 calls about seeing exotic wild animals roaming around. The police force took GUNS not TRANQUILIZERS. They then decided to kill every animal they could find. They thought tranquilizing them could put officers in danger. Then they killed every single animal, except for two monkeys that other animals had eaten. Many people are outraged. They killed 18 Bengal tigers. There are only 1,200 left in the world, as well as many other endangered animals. This set back attempts to help there be more of these species. If you have an opinion, tell Mrs.Kirr for a fishy!
Halloween Song/Poem
5 little pumpkins sitting on a gate,
the 3rd one said, "We don't care!"
the 1st one said, "My, it is getting late!"
the 2nd one said, "There are witches in the air!"the 3rd one said, "We don't care!"
the 4th one said, "Lets run, run, run!"
the 5th one said, "Isn't Halloween fun?"
ooohhhh went the wind,
and out went the lights,
and 5 little pumpkins rolled out of sight.

Remedy for his life is what he needs.
Ongoing poverty and bad behavior for him.
Great things in his future if only he tried.
Eager to have a better life and buy blue suede shoes.
Regretful that he did many bad things to so many people.

Roger
An original haiku by Grace Kozurek
I only can steal,
To get anything I want.
What will happen now…
Poem
I was perfectly fine
then I became mad
someone tried to steal my purse
whats wrong with that lad,
so that evening I took him under my wing
I frightened him so he would remember Mrs Jones
like a dog would remember a pile of a 1000 bones
I explained to Roger why I'm doing what this is
and i didn't get all up in his biz
I gave him ten dollars
and I was part of him like magical powers.
